Buddhist Philosophy 9 Week Course

Text Precious Garland Teaching. In thePrecious Garland, Nagarjuna offers advice on how to conduct our lives. The advice for personal happiness is concerned first with improving our condition over the course of lifetimes and then with release from all kinds of suffering, culminating inBuddhahood. the qualities of thebuddhas.
In his advice on social and governmental policy, Nagarjuna emphasises education and compassionate care for all living beings, and states his opposition to the death penalty, and appeals for charity for the homeless. Calling for the appointment of government figures who do not seek profit or fame, he advises that a selfish motivation will lead to misfortune.
These teachings are suitable for everyone. If you have not attended teachings on this previously, it remains a most suitable text for anyone to study.
Cost: $20 per class or a one-off payment of $160 for the full year 9 weeks.

MIND TRAINING 6 WEEK COURSE
Where: Kamalashila Tibetan Buddhist Centre, 9000 Princes Highway, Tilba.

Cost: Per class $10 or $50 full course
In this course Khenpo la will introduce attendees to the techniques of how to train our minds from negative to the positive, incorporating how to use our emotions to effect change.

Mindfulness and Compassion Retreat: 9-12 June at KTBC. (Queen’s Birthday long weekend) Lead by Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe
Starts 7pm 9 June and finishes 10am 12 June.
At this 3 day retreat Khenpo la will give detailed instructions on Mindfulness and Compassion, and there application in meditation and everyday life. Includes all meals, accommodation, texts and teachings.
Cost: $300 full retreat. Daily rate with accommodation $100/without $80: Members and Friends $270 full retreat. Daily rate with accommodation $90/without $72.
Shamatha Retreat: 29 September to 7 October. Lead by Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe

At this annual retreat, you will learn the practice of single pointed meditation in a naturally peaceful environment from a master who has been practicing these techniques for over 40 years. Includes all meals, accommodation, text and teachings.
